With filming fully underway in Vancouver for Deadpool, there’s been a solidly interactive element with it when it comes to the fans that will help build more momentum for it as time goes on. The latest nugget to arrive is the confirmation that Ed Skrein, who we’ve known has been involved for some time, is definitely playing a name villain within the feature. The actor is taking on the role of Ajax, which is a character that was connected with the Deadpool back in the Weapon X program. There’s a solid connection between the two characters from the origin side of it all and it looks like Skrein is going to have a lot of fun with it.
While that’s enough to get fans excited to see more of the original works coming onboard for the project from the Joe Kelly era of the character, a number of on location images have surfaced as well that showcases Reynolds in the full costume having plenty of fun with guns that looks like it’s going to recreate aspects from the test footage sequence.
The film is set for a February 12th, 2016 release directed by Tim Miller based on a screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wrenick. It’s set to star Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller and Gina Carano.
Plot concept: Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
