We learned recently that a second season of Noragami has gotten the approval to go ahead, and new a few new details have started to surface regarding it. First, a new key visual of the main cast has arrived, which you can see to the right in larger form by clicking on it. And we’ve gotten confirmation that the second season will bring back the staff and cast from the first season. The show was directed by Kotaro Tamura based on scripts by Deko Akao along with character designs by Toshihiro Kawamoto. BONES handled the animation production for it.
The season is set to work the Biashamon arc of the manga which focuses on the war god of the same name. No details have been released about when they intend to bring the series to broadcast have been revealed yet.
The series stars Hiroshi Kamiya as Yato, Maaya Uchida as Hiyori Iki, Yuuki Kaji as Yukine, Miyuki Sawashiro as Bishamon, Jun Fukuyama as Kazuma, Aki Toyosaki as Kofuku, Daisuke Ono as Daikoku, Toru Ohkawa as Tenjin, Asami Imai as Mayu and Rie Kugimiya as Nora.
The first season of the series was picked up for North American release by FUNimation at the end of 2014 with plans for them to release it in the summer of 2015 in DVD/BD combo form.
Plot concept: Yato may just be a minor god now, but he’s determined to make it big and he’s got a plan. Unfortunately, things just don’t seem to be going his way. He doesn’t have a single shrine dedicated to him, his partner has just quit, and now he’s got to find a new divine weapon. Just when things look bleak, he meets a girl named Hiyori and changes her life forever.
