What They Say
Forced to stand by and watch as Himari faces off against an onslaught of monsters ordered to attack by Tamamo-no-mae, Yuuto finally accepts his role as a demon slayer! But acceptance doesn’t automatically make him good at it, and the yong warrior must continue training to become master of his own potential! And during one such training session, Yuuto runs into another sleuth-like slayer, Hitsugi Yakouin! Will Yuuto learn a thing or two about using his own Light Ferry powers with her help?

Alcohol isn’t the only thing that makes for a rowdy Christmas party; attacking ayakashi can make quite a raucous too! After sensing the approach of the ayakashi, Himari steps outside to warn them off. However, the ayakashi have no intention of backing down, and attack en masse. Not seeking any help from Yuuto, Himari throws down and defeats them all. I can’t help but worry about her expending too much energy now that we know her life force is finite.

Now that Yuuto has accepted his responsibilities as a demon slayer, he has to train as a warrior. Himari is probably a good teacher, but all the panty flashing and groping might stunt Yuuto’s fighting development. It’s during a training session that Yuuto meets another demon slayer, Hitsugi Yakouin. Yakouin is a unique girl with the ability to see the future, allowing her to predict her enemy’s movements. At first it seems kind of lame, but she quickly shows that her ability allows her to dodge enemy attacks, and know where her enemy will be when she wants to counterattack. Yakouin also reminds the reader of Himari’s mortality, by warning the cat princess that she is going to die.

A nice departure from the “trip to the hot springs” storyline, instead has the gang headed to a ski resort. But this trip isn’t just for fun, they were asked to come by a group of ayakashi. These mountain ayakashi live in harmony with the local humans. Recognizing that they are weak, these mountain ayakashi ask Yuuto to protect them from the Nine-tailed Fox and Shuten-Douji. Yuuto is more than happy to agree, but when a full-grown, and naked, Nine-tailed Fox appears in Yuuto’s bath, will he be able to repel her attack? Will it just be a sexy attack, or does she intend to kill him after she’s had her fun?

In Summary
The sexiness and nudity in this story is increased tenfold in this volume. A naked battle with buxom beauties in a hot springs bath can do that for a story. The sexiness aside, this volume fully introduces the demon slayer girl Yakouin. I really like her character. Despite being young, her ability to see the future has matured, and embittered her beyond her years. Could you imagine being able to see the future and know how people are going to react to things ever since you were a little kid? It would definitely make anyone cynical of the world around them. The question is, how helpful is she going to be in the war against the Nine-tailed Fox and Shuten-Douji, especially considering she seems to have her own agenda that may not mirror the other demon slayer clans.
