What a lot of shows prove is that you can do a lot with a little, if you have the right people doing it. This series definitely does that since we get this one starting off like a horror story and you realize just how much fun it can be in that direction. With Wakasa home alone, everything just seems like it’s so much scarier, even or especially for someone like Wakasa. The things that run through his mind are definitely amusing to watch unfold as he imagines all sorts of scenarios of being left to bandits, terrorists and aliens. What makes this extra fun is that it gets him out of the bathroom briefly, not that we see much of the rest of the house since it’s dark and late at night. But when you realize we haven’t been out of the bathroom since we first saw Wakasa at the riverbank, it just makes the show all the more impressive in a way.
Wakasa’s self-contained solitary drama here is a fun one as he deals with being alone late at night and everything seems to set off his alarms. With worry about Tatsumi being gone to all the sounds that he hears, and a journey down the hall that goes awry, it’s simple stuff but fun stuff that lets Wakasa stretch his “acting” muscles a bit. The reunion itself is certainly cute as well as everything is settled nicely enough, making it a little heartwarming.
