The first series for Ace of the Diamond came to a close this past weekend after seventy-five glorious episodes of high school baseball material, which our own Kory Cerjak reviewed for the past year and a half, and now the new season is getting ready to start up. The second season is getting a bit of a move in Japan to something that will garner it more attention with audiences there, which means simulcast episodes will now start appearing on Monday, April 6th, at 6:30am ET for premium members and a week later for free members. It’ll be available to audiences worldwide outside of Asia.
Plot concept: I want to pitch to that mitt again… A meeting with catcher Kazuya Miyuki changed the 15-year-old Eijun Sawamura’s life. He said goodbye to all his friends and knocked upon the door of Seidou, a prestigious baseball school, intent on testing his own strength. There, he met many proud baseball players who were betting everything on the sport! A classic tale, yet new and fresh. All the emotion and excitement of the popular baseball manga is at last coming to television in the form of an anime!
