Dark Horse Reveals ‘Lone Wolf & Cub 2100′ Series

Dark Horse Reveals ‘Lone Wolf & Cub 2100′ Series Dark Horse Comics is reviving one series that they’ve had before with Lone Wolf & Cub 2100. The new incarnation of the series is set to debut on January 6th, 2016 for the first of a four issue run. The new book is set to be written by Eric Heisserer (Shaper) and illustrated by Miguel Sepulveda (Red Lanterns, Action Comics) as it provides a new re-imagining of Kazuo Koike’s classic manga Lone Wolf and Cub.

“It’s a genuine privilege to get to write for a title as iconic as Lone Wolf and Cub, and the 2100 setting allows me an opportunity to tell a fresh iteration of this story,” said Heisserer. “The best science fiction holds up a mirror to contemporary society and exaggerates all its flaws (but also its beauty). That’s what I aspire to do with the ideas behind Lone Wolf 2100.”

Plot concept: AD 2100: A devastating manmade plague is turning the human race into cannibalistic monsters known as the Thrall. But there is hope: young Daisy Ogami’s blood holds the secret to a cure—if Itto, her android protector, can get her to a place where it can be extracted!

The anime adaptation of Fujino Omori’s light novel series is the first part of a slate of titles that will be planned for the GA Bunko imprint that it’s a part of. The new series will be directed by Yoshiki Yamakawa at JC Staff based on scripts and compsoition by Hideki Shirane and character designs by Shigeko Kimoto.

‘The Avengers’ Begins Shooting Today

‘The Avengers’ Begins Shooting Today With the film due out on May 4th, 2012, production is getting under way today with principal photography kicking off according to Joss Whedon in a new post to his blog. With hime and Zak Penn working the script, the Marvel Studios film will carry the big name cast of Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Chris Evans as Captain America, as well as many more characters involved. Let’s just let the man overseeing all of this break it down.

Hi Pumpkins, joss here.

Tomorrow we start shooting (I THINK I’m legally permitted to say that). Day one. That’s right. We’ll be shooting the pivotal death/betrayal/product placement/setting up the sequel/coming out scene, at the following address:

[Marvel Lawyers rush in, take Joss’s keyboard, blowtorch a picture of his family like in “Stormy Monday”, drink his milkshake, leave the seat up, fluff his pillows, violently unfluff his pillows, leave]

Went too far. My bad. Anyhoo, it should be a fun day, followed by the eighty thousand other fun days it will take to finish this. I’ll be checking in from time to time, if there’s news or I crave attention (i.e. am awake) . None of it will be Avengers news — I have some very denty pillows to remind of that — but I may have tidbits. (They’re not about Firefly. I should say that up front, if only to protect Sis Mo from the HATORZ.)

Some of you may be saying, Joss! Why this link, here, now, why, huh, howcum? My friend Allyx turned me on to these guys, and I’ll tell you, they’ve gotten me through this intensely pressurized, preply time. I strongly recommend checking out their other vids — I’ve watched them many many times, and I have a very special place for “Teamwork” in my heart. These guys are the guys. And IS there a better movie title than “Eagles Are Turning People Into Horses”? I thought not.

So wish me luck. DO IT! LUCK! NOW! I’m off to finish some Buffy pages, and then figure out what the movie is about already. I’m pretty sure it’s about the Justice League [Marvel Lawyers re-enter, unspeakability occurs] or possibly something else. I’ll get it. I’ve been looking forward to this. For about 46 years.

Sequel. That little tease is just a new key visual that has the four main characters together at school, but it’s definitely a tease as only a small image of it is available at the moment.

While hopes and expectations were for the same team to come back for it, those hopes were dashed earlier this year. The series will be directed by Kei Oikawa at studio feel. Shotaro Shuga is back on board to set the series composition, but Yuichi Tanaka is on to handle the character designs this time around.
