When you have any group of friends together for any amount of time, invariably there will be an argument or fight that causes them to stand apart for awhile. For Yachiyo and Suzu, that’s what sets things here as Aki tries to get things settled before just giving up on it since trying to get either of them to give is nearly impossible. Aki at least tries to figure out what it is, but when it turns into a kind of lover’s quarrel, you can just see her becoming less interested overall. Suzu’s reasons for getting mad obviously make sense for her, but the whole thing just drains all the energy out of Aki and you have to appreciate that she even tried to make an effort.
While the show goes with a cute if expected ending where both are responsible for the situation, the fun is in watching how each acts while mad at the other. And as Aki does her best to figure out what’s going on before she ends up being bored by the whole event herself. The overacting is cute and I really liked the blase approach that Aki seemed to have as she learned more and more that had her feeling like she just wanted to walk away and look at the clouds. Cute and simple but effective in making me smile.
