If you are a soon-to-be mom, you’ll be needing some maternity clothes that make you feel amazing, especially on the days when you feel less than amazing. However, you probably noticed that it is quite difficult to find gorgeous maternity clothes, and you are sick and tired of wearing another plain, stretchy t-shirt. Today we are so excited to introduce you to one of the most stylish maternity lines we’ve ever seen – Isabella Oliver from UK.
Isabella Oliver designs maternity clothing that is effortless, comfortable, and stylish. As its brand slogan suggests, Isabella Oliver works hard to show the beauty of the “same woman” with “new curves”, embracing a new direction in trend aware style.
About Isabella Oliver
Isabella Oliver launched in 2003 with the determination to help women look and feel great during their pregnancy. Fast forward to 2013, it has become a well-loved brand dressing pregnant women all over the world, with a Queen’s Award being the icing on the cake. Isabella Oliver is a real team effort and they continue to work hard to offer great style and service.
About the Founder and Designer
Baukjen de Swaan Arons is the woman behind Isabella Oliver. It was her vision to bring stylish dressing to the pregnant woman that revolutionised maternity fashion and saw women celebrate their new curves with confidence.
Baukjen: When I was pregnant with my first child, Oliver, I really struggled to find maternity clothes that flattered my pregnancy curves, were comfortable, and also fitted all the way through my pregnancy. I wanted a wardrobe that felt like “me” and that was relaxed and flattering. I couldn’t find that wardrobe. To date, the best compliments I get, and the ones that motivate me the most, is when a woman tells me how much our maternity clothes made a difference to her pregnancy and state of mind. Those really make my day and drive my creative vision forward.

The bridal session is one of those beautiful traditions that have regained popularity in recent years. It is typically when the bride does a portrait session in her wedding attire before the wedding day. The bridal session is not only a great way to test your wedding day make-up, hair, and dress, but also one of the few times that a woman gets all dolled up and polished to feel like a queen in a stress-free environment.
We believe that the bridal session should not only reflect your beauty, but also carry your dreams and values, because those are the meaningful things that represent who you are. To inspire you on this concept, we’ve designed a bridal styled shoot featuring a ballerina, a musician, and a business woman with their unique dreams.
We are madly in love with these gorgeous dresses provided by Frocks Modern Bridesmaids , beautiful makeup and hair done by Jocelyn Huang, bridal accessories created by Davie & Chiyo , lovely desserts freshly baked by Pâtisserie Für Elise , and the romantic photos captured by Jas Grace Photography . We hope this special styled shoot leave you inspired, and we really encourage all of you to continue pursuing your dreams as you step into a new journey ahead!
The Romantic Ballerina
The ballerina’s dress and accessories:
Frocks Modern Bridesmaids: The Ivy & Aster Duchess ball gown is reminiscent of the ballerina outfit every little girl dreams of wearing. Its layers of blush tulle, fitted bodice, and delicate straps are sure to get a standing ovation.
Davie & Chiyo: A romantic trio of Swarovski pearl and crystal strands beautifully frame the neckline with a hint of sparkle (Celestial Necklace). Paired beautifully with the matching bracelet (Celestial bracelet), and goddess inspired ivory stranded head band (Athena headband). Classic accents for that special day.
The Passionate Musician
The musician’s dress and accessories:
Frocks Modern Bridesmaids: The Janine dress by Leanne Marshall features a structured lace bodice, and a bold organza folded skirt. This dress is perfect for someone who wants to stand out from the crowd and make a statement.
Davie & Chiyo: An intricate beaded rose applique shines in reflective silver. This simple and delicate head piece completes the look for a warm summer wedding (Beatrix headband).
The Modern Business Woman
The business woman’s dress and accessories:
Frocks Modern Bridesmaids: Leanne Marshall’s Julie dress suits the modern career woman with its clean lines and unique accents. The simple silhouette and soft, floating silk chiffon make this gown classic with a romantic twist.
Davie & Chiyo: Glistening strands of Swarovski crystals and pearls delicately intertwine for this bold yet ethereal statement piece (Trylium Garland Necklace). Paired together with the brilliant strands of Swarovski crystals (Galaxy Cuff) and Genuine leather envelope clutch (Jewelled Loveletter). Just the right amount of sparkle and elegance for the big day.
The Dream Brides
The Photographer’s Thoughts
Jas Grace Photography: Styled shoots are great projects for our creativity as wedding artists, especially a photo session like this where passion, dreams, emotions, and love are the main subjects to capture. This photoshoot reminds me of Helen Keller’s famous quote: “the best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart“.
We wanted our shoot to illustrate the pure faith and hope found in the three brides as they embrace their dreams. The girls may not be professional models, but they are definitely true believers. I was amazed by the natural facial and physical expressions they had when I asked them to “show” their dreams.
I’ve been completely overwhelmed by each person’s dedication to this dream project. Thank you for being part of a stellar team and for driving this shoot further than I could have ever imagined.
The Makeup Artist’s thoughts
Jocelyn Huang: My dream started from makeup and styling. Dreams and happiness are the biggest motivation behind every project, and this is how I felt about this bridal styled shoot. The beauty of the natural smiles and confident expressions found in this shoot are my greatest encouragement.

We are kicking off the week with something utterly romantic. If you are a fan of dreamy, ethereal, and elegant dresses, you will definitely fall in love with Claire Pettibone ‘s amazing designs. Claire started her career in lingerie design, and expanded her creativity into bridal wear. She has a strong signature style. Many describe her style as “fairy-like”, “lacey”, and “whimsical”, but she described her own style as “romance, with vintage inspiration and modern individuality“. How are Claire Pettibone designs so unique? Let these stunning real brides below show you the answer.
About the designer
Claire Pettibone: I spent my early childhood living in rural New York in a 19th century farmhouse on acres of rolling hills. As an only child, most of my time was consumed exploring the surrounding streams and forests, picking wild raspberries, and dreaming. Among the trees, ferns and wild flowers it was very easy to imagine and believe in a world of fairies and magic castles. Some of my earliest drawings are of princesses and brides dressed in elaborate gowns.
My parents are both professional artists, so I was exposed to galleries and museums and encouraged to develop my creativity. I studied classical ballet for years and the stories and costumes of the ballet continue to influence my ideas of elegance and grace.
As a teenager I began pouring over European Vogue where the world of couture opened up to me. I completed study in fashion design at Otis Parsons School of Design in Los Angeles and began my career in design.
It has always been my desire to create exquisite feminine clothing using the finest fabrics and precious details; to combine a vintage feeling with modern style. In 1994, with the partnership of my husband Guy Toley, we began. Over the years, it has been a joy to see our collections carried in the finest boutiques in the world. I have a very romantic vision of how fashion can enhance our beauty and indulge our dreams. I invite you to share that dream.
Claire Pettibone: When I design a collection I strive to make a woman feel as special as the delicate creation she is wearing; take her to a enchanted time and place where women are princesses. In today’s modern world we need to pause and indulge in beauty.

Frocks’ tips for brides and bridesmaids to be
- Do some research! It is always helpful, both for you and your consultant at Frocks to have an idea of your wedding vision! Feel free to check out our designers (listed on our website) to get ideas, or to bring photos of dresses that appeal to you to your appointment!
- Give yourself lots of time! Not only does it sometimes take some time to find the perfect dress, it also takes time to bring the dress in! Frocks recommends ordering your dress approximately 5 months in advance. This means starting your dress search 8 months in advance will give you a comfortable amount of time to find the dress of your dreams!
- Try on everything! You may be surprised by what ends up looking the best on your body type, so trying on different silhouettes and styles, even the ones you initially hadn’t considered, can really help you get the best idea of what you do and don’t like in your wedding dress.
- Be prepared! Frocks recommends booking an appointment ahead of time so that we can be sure to have a fitting room available and a consultant dedicated to helping you. Also, it is always a good idea to bring a strapless bra, and your favourite pair of heels to your appointment!
- Consider your budget! It is a good idea to have a price in mind. Frocks bridal gowns can range anywhere from $300 to $3500 so letting your consultant know what your dress budget is helps them direct you towards the best dresses for you – and ensures you don’t fall in love with a dress that is beyond your budget!
- Limit the initial opinions! Frocks suggests bringing just a few close friends and family to your appointment, as having too many people accompany you often results in an over-whelming number of opinions. Feel free to make a second appointment to bring other people in to see your favourite gowns.
- Ask questions! Often dresses have customizable features – perhaps we can add straps, change the length, or have it made in a different colour or fabric. If there is anything that would turn a dress into the perfect dress for you, please do not hesitate to ask us!
- Stay true to yourself! While there can be pressure from friends and family when it comes to choosing your dress, it’s important to focus on your initial vision. After all, this is your day, and your dress. Make sure that you choose a dress you truly love and that suits both you and your wedding day.
