Coco Chanel Inspired Wedding Decor in Pink, Lavender and Platinum

What a treat we have today – some of the prettiest tabletop decor ideas I’ve seen, and all inspired by the one and only style icon, Coco Chanel! Los Angeles based wedding planners Nikki and Madiha Khan of Exquisite Events worked with an ultra-talented team of professionals to bring their vision to life in this inspiration photo shoot, and the photographers at Callaway Gable captured every stunning detail. Read on to learn about the team’s design inspiration and to see a practically endless amount of wedding decor eye candy!

Coco Chanel Inspired Wedding Decor in Pink, Lavender and Platinum

It all started with Nikki’s Chanel obsession. Her love of all things Coco Chanel sparked the inspiration for the Ode to Coco photo shoot, a chic collaboration with Revelry Event Designers , Wildflower Linen and The Hidden Garden Floral Design .

Nikki designed Ode to Coco as a 1920-1930 period tone-on-tone tabletop, with color being present in the flowers only. She chose soft greys, silver and platinum for the base of the design. The table linen was made of a luxurious crushed velvet and Youngsong Martin of Wildflower designed quilted chair covers to look like Chanel bags, complete with crystals and fabric-woven chains.

Matias Doorn of Revelry created a backdrop in various shades of grey with rows of hanging glass globes layered over fabric and two stunning silver globe chandeliers adorned with crystals hung from above. The table was embellished with pieces from Nikkis just-launched handmade silver collection; items like ornate silver chargers with lapis stones and silver peacock napkin rings. The Hidden Garden Floral Design created floral arrangements in pink, lavender and green, arranged in silver vases, which are also part of the new Exquisite Events product line.

The photo shoot was embedded into 1920s-30s Paris with the addition of hosts Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald, who naturally invited their friends to the dinner party. Cole Porter, Gertrude Stein, and Ernest Hemingway all dined at the Ode to Coco table at their assigned seat, next to the elegant place cards designed by Copper Willow Paper Studio .

The table glimmered in soft candlelight and a palatable menu was featured on beautifully simple cards that sat atop silver charger plates. Brian from Callaway Gable Photography captured amazing shots and brought the table to life. We think Zelda and Scott would have been very happy with this elegant and timeless table setting; a perfect ode to Coco Chanel!.

Romantic Flower Crowns – A Fresh Wedding Tradition! – Twigss Floral Studio

I’ve been noticing flower crowns blossoming on both the runway and in real weddings this spring, and can’t think of a better way to add a little romance and whimsy to your wedding day look! I had the pleasure of talking with the oh-so-talented Addison Searles of Twigss Floral Studio about the beautiful floral head wreaths they’ve been making for their brides and how flowers are the perfect way to top off your wedding style!

Why should brides consider a floral head crown? Tell us about why you suggest floral head wreaths to your clients. We love that head wreaths are an old custom. They represent honor, virtue and the changing of seasons, which we think is really cool. And although they are an older custom and have some deeper meanings, we believe they add a new, fun and fresh spin to a bride’s overall look on her wedding day. They are something that we encourage our brides to wear because we love crafting them, each on is so unique and special. There is a lot of detail and time that goes into making these special pieces – they arent your average daisy chain! we also tell brides that its the perfect excuse to wear flowers in your hair! Think about it…how often do you have a good excuse to do that?

Can you still carry a bouquet when you have a head wreath? Totally! In fact we recommend it because the more flowers the better in our opinion. Another great thing about a head wreath is that if you love flowers (like we do) then during your reception you can be hands free and still be rockin some amazing blooms. But for those brides that dont want to go flower crazy, they could totally just wear the head wreath and not fuss with a bouquet.

Do brides usually wear a veil with the head crown? Not with the head wreaths weve been making. I think that it really depends on the bride and her style though. Veils would be a beautiful touch and add more of a vintage look to a head wreath. We are always open to whatever is special or sentimental to the bride!

Are there different looks you can create with a floral head wreath, besides the typical sweet, romantic vibe? Are there ways that you can make the head wreath elegant or modern? Oh yes! That is our favorite part; there are so many options! Weve made an amazingly cool hippy-chic one, with daisy, clover hops, bachelor buttons and wild sweet peas. Weve made a beachy one, with sword ferns, sea shells, and garden roses; and an elegant one with ostrich feathers, rhinestones and roses. The possibilities are truly endless!

Addison , thank you so much for the great flower crown traditions and ideas! Readers, are you wearing one this summer? We’d love to hear about it!

Sophisticated Gold and Silver Wedding – Kristy and Mike

What a treat to see the ultra modern ways that Wisconsin couple Kristy and Mike used their metallic wedding color palette to dramatic and elegant effect in this morning’s wedding feature! That ceremony backdrop? Amazing! Big thanks to the generous couple for sharing their wedding day with us, and to photographers Krakora Studios for sharing their photos!

What was your wedding color palette? Silver and Gold

What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day? We wanted our wedding to be a reflection of us: classy and sophisticated but also very fun and light. Our vendors did a great job of creating this, we couldn’t have done it without them.

Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding?

Togetherness- Most had to travel for the event so everyone who was there wanted to be there to spend time with family and participate in our day.

What our guests complimented us on the most:

1)Food

2)Decor and venue – David Caruso did an over the top job at creating my vision. The backdrop for the ceremony as well as the table top displays are among a few of our guests favorite creations of his.

3) Photography – After having an unbelievable day that literally seems to flash by in a second, you hope that it was all captured in the way that you remembered it. Heather began editing our photos right away and had an initial slide deck (set to great music) to us within a few days. I was very appreciative of her work ethic and sense of urgency. It was everything that I was hoping for and more. Heather and Michael captured all of us at our best. And yes, not only did they capture the day as I remembered it, they captured all the little things about the day that I missed. Like, the children doing something really cute, or the joke that was told amongst the groomsmen that resulted in the biggest smiles I had ever seen on their faces…or my favorite, the twinkle in Mikes eye as he sees me from a distance.

Our family and friends had a hard time choosing what photos to purchase of us, because they were all that good. Heather and Michael listened to us and executed flawlessly.

What piece of advice would you give to a bride planning her wedding today? Do your research on your vendors, because they will make or break the day. Our day was a huge success because we hired great people who have a high level of commitment, skill and ability to execute. Don’t sweat the small stuff, most people probably won’t notice the little thing that is keeping you up at night. Build in as much time w family and friends as you can because you are going to want them near you. Thankfully we were able to enjoy an entire weekend w ours.

Multicultural Wedding at Sevenoaks Retreat Center, VA – Nine Photography

This amazing multicultural wedding hardly needs an introduction from me, since the stunning photos from Nine Photography truly speak for themselves, and the words from couple Liza and Anton are so simple, and so spot on. But may I just say, wow! What a truly unique and personalized wedding! I can’t get enough of these photos from their day.

What inspired your personal wedding style, and how did you incorporate your style and personalities into your big day? We wanted to combine each others different styles and imagination into one creative expression. I grew up in Mexico City and Anton on a farm in the Austrian Alps. The basic idea was farm-style with a family flair. The beautiful venue at Sevenoaks offered the perfect foundation to bring nature, simplicity, a touch of luxury, and great gourmet food together. We wanted to keep it simple, let nature speak for itself, offer comfort, great healthy food and activities that would bring the family and friends together, because three nations were present at our wedding. We made it a three day event to give family and friends the opportunity to come together and celebrate with us.

Looking back, what are the moments, decisions or memories that you love the most about your wedding? We loved the natural surroundings and location of the outdoor venue. Making it a three day event and combining three cultures and two families was also very special to us.

What piece of advice would you give to a bride planning her wedding today? Always remember what you want your dream wedding to look like, but be flexible and open to changes as you go along. Surround yourself with vendors who support your vision fully and completely, and who offer creative additions rather than just their own visions. If some things dont seem to work out, take that as a possibility for something even better to come along. And have fun, avoid stressful situations as much as possible, and dont forget, Its just a wedding.”

Slate Gray, Green and Ivory Wedding Style Inspiration Shoot

I adore the combination of organic textures with modern simplicity in this wedding decor inspiration shoot created by photographer Binita Patel and her talented team of collaborators. From the soft centerpieces in rock containers to the sleek shapes of the table and stemware, this is a table that calls for celebration!

Slate Gray, Green and Ivory Wedding Style Inspiration Shoot

From photographer and photo shoot designer, Binita Patel : This shoot was inspired completely by earth’s simplest color tones: green, slate and ivory. I really wanted to make sure that everything about this shoot felt very clean, simple and natural. Our linen supplier had a wonderful slate-colored over cloth, with a rough and almost rock-like texture, so this was the starting point of the design. From there, I enhanced the concept by choosing rectangular plates to maintain a sense of simplicity and really emphasize clean lines in the tablescape design. I went with more modern-shaped stemware and the the clear mirage chairs to add onto the modern feeling of the theme. I nearly jumped for joy when I saw that the florist had oh-so wonderfully designed the florals using an almost rock-like container. Even our hair and makeup artists stayed true to the theme by selecting natural and minimalist tones for the bride’s look. Everything came together beautifully, and the Artists for Humanity EpiCenter served as a beautiful and open backdrop for the shoot. With modern and colorful art pieces on the walls, the bright colors were the perfect compliment to the simple tones of the overall theme.

What were the top three priorities for you in planning your wedding? We wanted our wedding to be simple, elegant and personal.

What wedding traditions or cultural traditions did you incorporated into your wedding and what did they mean to you? We were married in a church to honor our spiritual upbringings. And we did the chicken dance!

Were there any places where you broke the rules in your wedding planning? Why and how did you do that? We did everything on our own terms and timelines.

What was your biggest wedding planning success? Meeting the ladies at La Fleur Vintage . They took all of my ideas and brought them to life.

Whimsical Wedding at the Barr Mansion – Austin, Texas – Jessica and Brian

What was the most important thing that you learned through the wedding planning process and what would you tell other brides-to-be? Laugh! My husband’s favorite memory of the wedding week was the day before the wedding when we went to pick up his tuxedo. He tried it on and the tie looked like it was made for a kid. Brian was scared I would freak out, but I started laughing like crazy. It broke the stress and reminded us that this wedding was about our friendship. Don’t take it too seriously; things will go wrong but no one will notice.

Mid-Century Modern Engagement Shoot – Gwen and Anthony

Mid-Century Modern Engagement Shoot – Gwen and Anthony Stylish couple Gwen and Anthony’s striking engagement shoot from Michael L’Heureux | Photography is full of mid-century modern design; clean, crisp images; and Mad Men-esque fashion. I love seeing how a couple can take a particular style or era that they love and use it as the starting point for a beautifully unique engagement shoot! Gwen and Michael generously gave us a little insight into the inspiration and how it all came together. Mid-Century Modern Engagement Shoot – Gwen and Anthony From bride-to-be GwenMost people who know us, know that we have a fascination for anything mid-century; vintage clothes, Dave Brubeck, and retro cars are just the beginning. I dont think Anthony had quite the same interests until he met me, but he is undeniably a believer now. For me, the fascination started long before Don Draper and Mad Men were on the scene. In fact, my first car was a beautifully restored 66 Mustang! Fast forward from a little girl watching Breakfast at Tiffanys over and over again to the woman designing her engagement photo session and you get me – pulling together all the details to bring our retro vision to life! When we first set eyes on Michael LHeureuxs website, his talent was overwhelming and we just about hired him without even meeting in person. So as far as locations go, we are fortunate enough to live in an awesome area in the San Francisco East Bay with lots of protected open space. Fortunately one of Anthonys groomsmen owns a beautiful 63 Ford Galaxie and was willing to let us borrow it for the day; I got my hands on a vintage wool blanket and borrowed a picnic basket from a friend. Mid-Century Modern Engagement Shoot – Gwen and Anthony Mid-Century Modern Engagement Shoot – Gwen and Anthony From Photographer, Michael It is always a pleasure when a client comes to me with a specific vision for the style they would like to see in their images. I love this set, and I think the key to their success was the open collaboration between photographer and client. The open flow of ideas during this shoot lent itself to what I think is a highly stylized and thoughtful representation of the couple. It just fits them!  They are the couple that has impeccable style, great chemistry, and likes a bit of adventure. Basically, the couple you look at and say, “Wow they are the perfect couple!” I can’t wait for the Santa Barbara wedding to come!
